Terms of Service

The short version: Second Stream is a personal RSS, podcast, and YouTube reader. Use it for its intended purpose, don't abuse it, and we'll keep it running for you.

1. Acceptance

By downloading or using Second Stream ("the app"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. Who Can Use the App

You must be at least 13 years old to use Second Stream. By using the app you confirm that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these terms on your behalf.

3. Your Account

Second Stream uses Sign in with Apple for authentication. You are responsible for maintaining access to your Apple ID and for all activity that occurs through your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us at secondstream@nwidynski.com.

4. What the App Does

Second Stream fetches and aggregates content from RSS feeds, podcast feeds, and YouTube channels that you subscribe to. We also generate AI summaries of that content and deliver curated news digests. The app is a reader — we do not host or own the underlying content you subscribe to.

You agree not to use Second Stream to:

6. Third-Party Content

The feeds, podcasts, and YouTube channels you subscribe to are published by third parties. We are not responsible for third-party content and do not endorse it. Your use of that content is subject to the terms and policies of its respective publisher.

AI-generated summaries are produced automatically and may contain inaccuracies. They are provided for convenience and should not be relied upon as the definitive representation of the underlying content.

7. In-App Purchases

Second Stream offers an optional tip jar processed through Apple's App Store. All purchases are final and subject to Apple's Terms of Sale. We do not process or store any payment information. Refund requests must be submitted through Apple.

8. Intellectual Property

The Second Stream app, including its design, code, and original content, is owned by Nicolas Widynski and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the app without prior written permission.

Content you subscribe to through the app remains the property of its respective owners.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

Second Stream is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. Your use of the app is at your own risk.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Nicolas Widynski shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the app, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim arising out of these terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

11. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time from within the app's settings. Deletion permanently removes your account data from our servers. You can also request deletion by contacting us at secondstream@nwidynski.com.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of France, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of France.
